Australia 2019 - Day 16 - 18

Day 16 - Fri 12th July 2019 - Luna Park

Once again we caught the train from Mels house into the city getting off a circular quay.  This time we headed up into the Rocks area.  I was hoping to be able to wander around all the old laneways and alleys.

I love this old part of Sydney but of course Josh was being cranky and the other kids were all more excited about our next plans so after half an hour or so I gave up and we headed back along Cumberland Street to Wynyard station. Lots of old memories coming in to meet Dad when he worked at Wynyard at Railway House.

Railway House is the green building in the middle

We caught the train from Wynwayd across the Harbour Bridge to Milsons Point station then waked down to Luna Park.

Luna Park is a little amusement park right on the edge of Sydney harbour. Its go the greatest views.

We started the day with a ride on the Ferris Wheel.  Ernie was adamant that he didn't want to go but we managed to drag him on.  We couldn't all fit in one carriage so we let the three little kids go together in one.

While Mel, Ernie and I took the next one.

What a fantastic view.

Ernie was terrified the whole time but even he had to admit the view is great.

We then went on the Rotor - I've never been on one of those type of rides before - it wasn't too bad till you had to slide down the wall at the end - not a pleasant feeling.

We headed to the picnic grounds down the other end of the park.

And had our lunch and then since we were right in front of the spider line and the line was short we did that ride next.

Still one of my favourite rides.  Next was the tumble bug.

The tango Train, then Volatire (the big swings). This was probably the longest line of the day.

But so much fun.  We headed for the wild Mouse next, but Mel and Ernie decided not to come on that one and went back to the tumblebug whilst Eddie, Josh Lexie and I did the wild Mouse.

We stopped for a seriously expensive drink and icecream, then headed for Coney Island.  I loved this area - had so many memories of childhood and had a great time.  More than Lexie and Josh did.

Lexie, Me, Eddie and Mel

I even managed to convince Mel to go on the really steep slide, but well all agreed that the bumpy slide was the best.

We were headed out of the park, but noticed that there was no line for the swings now so jumped on for a second ride.  Unfortunately ruined for me and Lex by seriously annoying people next to us.

The walk back up the hill to Milsons Point station was a slog after playing all day but we made it and took the train home to Mels house.  We stopped at Woolies on the way through and picked up Taco makings for dinner and had en early bed.

Day 17 - Sat 13th July 2019  - The Prince

We got up pretty early to head back to Mum and Dads.  To make it pretty easy for everyone Mel drove us to Wolli Creek station where we were just in time to jump on the next train to Sutherland - where Mum and Dad picked us up.  A pretty easy trip really.

However Dad had a wierd problem with the car - so to try and figure out what was going on we did a short drive down to the Woronora River at Woronora.  Buy the time we got back it was time to head to The Prince up with all my friends.  We found our booked table and waited.  Cathy and Warren with Bradley and Lucy were the first to arrive Followed by Helen and Eva, then Meaghan and Margaret and Adam and Jade and Owen and Hamish and Angus. It was great to catch up with everyone.  We bought a whole bunch of apps to eat.  Unfortunately we only had our tab;e booked till 3pm but luckily we were able to find a table outside to move too.  But that meant everyone got cold and we ended up leaving at 5pm cause Lexie was freezing and both kids were really bored.  My kids are really not good at socialising and didn't have a great day - were bored the entire time.

Day 18 - Sun 14th July 2019  - Home Day

Today was a prep day for our road trip.  We had to do a bunch of washing and lots of packing, a bit of grocery shopping.  Managed to find some time for a few train runs.

When we were looking for a heater to take we found a box that had Mels old Nintendo system (NES) with the original Mario game.  I tried setting it up on the main television but nits not compatible - so I tried the old TV downstairs - still no luck - so I tried the old cabinet TV that Dad still has lying around and amazing enough managed to get it to work.  It was fun showing Josh how to play around with the vertical hold and issues like that.  He got a taste of how we used to live.

Josh had a go playing but it was fun to finally be able to beat him at something computer related.

 Mwwhhhhhhhaaaa hhaaa
