Australia 2017 - Day 5 to Day 8

On Friday we hired a car and drove up to Margot and David's house.  We arrived just before the storm and headed straight for the next door neighbours pool (it was over 100F 38C as we were driving up), we just got a swim in before the storm arrived.

And boy was it a good one.  We lost power for about 3 hours which was fun. But thankfully it came back on before bedtime.

 This pattern then continued for the next couple of days.  Rain in the morning, a fine afternoon then a storm in the afternoon.

Saturday we had a relaxing morning at home before heading up to the village for a sushi lunch.  We also go re-aquainted with the large number of native animals around their house.

That afternoon we got out of the pool when we heard the sirens go off to get everyone off on the golf course - then the storm came in and brought with it hail this time - Oh great, now my hire car is covered in small dents - still we got off better than a lot of others.  And hey who can stay worried when there is a spa bath with bubbles!

Sunday the rest of the family came over and we had a big get together.  Tim, Anna, Sophia and Jack came up and brought Peppa (the dog) with them so the kids were in seventh heaven.  Aunty Sue also came down for lunch and we had a great catch up with everyone.

Monday we headed back to the Sutherland Shire - dropped off the hire car (Bye Bye excess - really glad I took out the extra insurance now), then headed back to Grandma and Grandpas house.  Problem now is that Lexie is complaining of a sore ear - oh great now we have an ear infection to top everything off...
