Day 12 - Wed 23 April

Sandergerdi - Boston

So glad that we stayed here since there's no real check out time, the guy told me to stay as long as we need - that's good because due to the strike at Keflavik this morning our flights been pushed back to 7pm.  Spent the morning cleaning out the car and repacking then jumped back in the hot spring for a while, unfortunately we didn't turn it off early enough so it was cold when we go it and it never did get hot, just warm.  But it was still fun.

We finally left at about 2:30pm and headed for the Hagkaup in Keflavik so I could try and buy some good Icelandic wool.  Filled up the car then headed for the airport.  It was much easier getting back from the car hire place - found the footpath this time.  Though for a while I thought I wasn't going to be able to fit both car seats back in their bags.  Checked in - Keflavik is a nice little airport. Tried to buy something good to eat, but the place I went to had their card machine down, and since I still don't have any cash I couldn't pay, so ended up at the big place with a really terrible hamburger instead.   Flight ended up leaving at 6:30pm and was only half full.  Kids were great on the flight, Lexie watch movies the whole time, Josh watched Shaun the Sheep for a while then had a nap.

No issues getting out of the airport and we were home by 8:30pm.

Overall impressions - I't a magnificent place, I'm just a bit sorry we didn't get better weather, the last day was absolutely beautiful, if only we could have had a bit more sunshine and a bit less wind.  But oh well, there's always next time - and there will be a next time.

And finally I want some of those Iceland pools around here.  I miss the Icelandic pools.
